An oasis of greenery and water
The project consists in the redesign of Villa Fontefresca garden, located in the charming hillside of Florence.
The property is divided into two areas of usage: the villa patio, and the shade garden, which extends under the foliage of pre-existing Oakswith a new and bright green lawn.
It is the presence of these trees that symbolized the design challenge, consisting in two new elements as client’s request: an above-ground swimming pool and a bioclimatic pergola functioning as a gym.
The backbone of the garden was therefore chosen as place to locate the tub, covered with a teak and stoneware structure, with a gravel reading room at its end.
The swimming pool, central element of the garden, is flanked by a stone walkway that leads to the pergola, which stands out as an architectural element in contrast with the naturalness of the place.
The villa patio is indeed chosen as place for conviviality and gathering, and is characterized by the presence of an old wall from which ancient stone portals emerge, accentuated by new blossoms and scenic lighting.
The garden new greenery is finally selected with refined blooms and outstanding species.
A collection of Hydrangeas, such as Hydrangea paniculata and quercifolia, a mix of Agaphantus africanus and groups of Phormium, which through their chromatic colors light up the garden in all its corners.
