QUERCIAMATTA
The new parking area of the Querciamatta winery blends into the Tuscan landscape with a light, measured gesture, working with materials and geometries that echo the rhythm of the surrounding vineyard rows. The entire surface is made of reddish compacted gravel, a reference to the local soils that helps minimize the visual impact of the paving. The parking bays are outlined by subtle stone segments, while circulation is guided by a large corten-steel planter—an authentic landscape device that directs movement and introduces an organic rhythm to the space.
The planted beds host Mediterranean and aromatic species, while the large cork oak (Quercus suber) placed at their center becomes both a visual anchor and a point of orientation, contributing to a natural and welcoming atmosphere. A lightweight metal structure, almost a suspended grid, frames the layout of the cars and recalls the geometry of the vineyards, reinterpreted in a contemporary key. Discreetly integrated within it are the charging stations for electric vehicles. Altogether, the project defines an arrival space that is not merely a parking lot but the beginning of the winery’s architectural and territorial experience—a place that is open, permeable, and respectful, where functionality meets a measured aesthetic in harmony with the agricultural landscape of Tuscany.
